Another version of the same model from last post... I think it looks better as a large image, so linking the larger image here.

I don't know why, but this model always seems to be slightly unfocused. Maybe it's me? :cryin:

C&Cs welcome. I like it in general, as least as an artsy/chic shot, but wonder if the stark white and line down the center limit it's potential?

Also, strangely (and a comment for the Post Processing forum), I see a noticeable difference between the colors and tones when editing in PS than in the final JPEG image viewed in a browser. It is not a RAW, so not sure why it displays so differently ..

If you're concerned about the framing, why not tighten it up a bit and reduce the size of the heavy side?

And as far as color goes, check that you are saving in sRGB and not aRGB. I didn't bother to look, but I know I have to convert every file in photoshop to get them to display properly online.

I don't know anything about taking pictures of models but I looked at this and thought this crop looked better. You do say it is all right to edit and re-post, so here is what I came up with. I added a line for a little frame to define the right hand side of the picture, Jeff

I do like the cropped photo better, maybe because of the frame? Or maybe it has to do with the original photo being a bit too wide.

Erik - Thanks for the PS advice. It is funny, for when I export from PS to JPEG I get that change of colors, but if I copy the image in PS and then paste it into Corel Photopaint, and save to JPEG from Corel, it looks right. So there must be a setting in PS on "save" that is doing it!

Jeff - I like the crop, but I also like the 'full arms and elbows in the frame' image. Hmm. I will play with it some more. The advantage of yours is that the white doesn't overwhelm as it does in the full image. I like the frame, btw.

Hydro - Thanks for the comment also. I don't think the format of the original is very classical either - seems too wide .. trying to balance out all the different needs of the shot isn't easy

I think this crop makes you focus more on the face instead of the arms all over the place. In the original the model looks wider and squatier where in my crop she looks taller and more slender. I think the taller crop makes her look much more appealing. Also getting rid of a lot of the white back ground and defining the right hand side of the picture helped quite a bit. Before, the picture just went off into nothing and now it is a defined area to look at. As far as the frame I couldn't figure out how to get one around it so I put it in Paint and put a wide black line on each side, Jeff

Jeff - I do like the crop, but I still have a problem clipping arms. I'm not sure if it's because they shouldn't be or if I just have a mental block against doing so. :mad2: She does look thinner and taller in your crop, though to me she doesn't look hefty or anything in the original either. Oh well. That half white background is a twister btw, so that's another advantage of the crop Thanks again for your artistic viewpoint - I welcome yours and everyone els's on the site.
