    Micro Machine...

Car enthusiasts get bored in the winter.. we also get bored of looking at our car pics and waiting for spring.. soooo a little photoshop fun to make random cars into Micro Machine.. the source was small.. and no, not my car.. but a fun exercise..

I like this a lot and would love to know how you did it. Can you do this sort of thing with paint shop pro 9?

What did the driver think of being shrunk or doesnt he know yet?

I don't know Paint Shop Pro 9 and its abilities. However if you can mask, blend and creat layers then this should be possible..

The trick is to cut the car into strips and then bring them together while blending. You will need to stretch and distort some parts to get body lines to line up properly but that about the jist of it. Oh and at the end just copy in the original wheels and wheel well to keep give it that micro machine look.

I am going to try to develope a photoshop tutorial on this in the near future as I get a lot of requests from the car enthusiasts..thanks for the comments

    Paul,

Thanks for the reply. The answer is yes to all the layer bits according to the documentation, I guess I need to learn how to use these tools.

    Very Cool

    Paul-
This is a sweet photo. Usually I'm against heavy PS manipulation. It usually means that the original photo was crap and the photographer was trying to salvage it. But in this case, I think you've done something creative and fun and the manipulation actually added to the content. For me, that's the test - does the editing to add to the image, or just change it. Your PS work definitely complimented the content in the original.

Thanks for sharing this. It's given me some ideas

On another note - to those of you who posted short, non-critical replies: On this forum, please try to always include some critical comments in your replies. This forum relies on everyone always contributing thoughtful and critical comments. And when you take the time to break down and post some real criticism, you'll almost always learn something you can apply to your own photography.

I don't know how to critique this -- so I'm not disregarding your request that viewers do so. But I would like to see the original photo(s) so I can understand how much it was/they were altered.

Or is it cheating to ask that?

Based on the description below, it sounds like a lot of work went into it. Seeing the original might give me a better idea of how radically (or subtley) different this is from the original.

Thanks for the replys and I do believe the same rules of composition, light, color and balance apply to even photoshop, especialy if realism is the goal!

Here is the original and the photochop for reference..
