    Magnolia series #1

I am working on photographing a collection of Magnolias due to the fact I live in Mississippi and it is the state flower. I will post some here and would welcome any comments you may offer, Jeff

Interesting that the petal caught that large amount of debris. However, I find it distracting and my eye keeps shifting between the center of the flower and that one petal. If it were empty I think I'd be drawn into the center.

I like the definiton of detail in the flower, and richness of colors

contrary to mkp68 I find it interesting the petal is holding that much stuff

great use of a wide angle! how big is this flower ?

NKP68, what you are seeing in the curve of the petal is the stamin that has fallen off from the center section of the flower. I have some photos with this included and will be posting others that do not have it. I myself like it and think it makes it a more interesting photo but the reason i posted it here is to get other peoples opinions and I appreciate yours.

armando, this flower is probably about 12 inches across. Thanks for your input and please continue to look at the series of my Magnolias and give me any input you may have. Thanks to both of you for taking the time to give me your thoughts. The reason i posted it here is to see what other people think and all comments are welcome, Jeff
