    Looking at a plant

    Here is a shot i got the other day - I cropped the image and then added bars and adjusted the brightness and contrast some.

    I think the background is not blurry enough, The colors are alittle off - i did white balance - just need to learn more about color temps.

    Let me know what you think good and bad.

    I am not a cat maniac but I think that your composition is beautiful, it capture the essence of a cat being a cat in a very artsy way. On the technical side I think that you could have underexposed this by say, 0.3 stop. The picture seems a bit too bright as it currently stand. Also, I notice that you have submitted a .gif file. I'd suggest to submit jpegs and to use lower compression settings. You can post files up to 190 ko or so, make the most of it! The high compression ratio here created artefacts, I don't enjoy the picture as I could because of this but it remains a neat photograph.

    I like your unedited image much better than the "widescreen" look with the bars. There is also a warmer tone to your unedited image the first one has too much blue cast for my taste. Nice shot.
