Mmmm, there is certainly a lot going on and with the yellow sign being so bright and not the primary focal point I find I have to search for the main subject in the scene. Have you thought about a B&W for this?
I feel this is a bit busy Roger. Sometimes busy can be good as I enjoy scanning through a busy picture picking out different details.
In this case maybe the Lock mechanism deserves a feature on its own as what is behind seems a bit muddled.

It is an intriguing shot. The lines in different directions make the photo interesting. I just wish the focus were on the yellow-black sign.

Roger .. I think you really need something in there to catch the eye - a subject of some kind. As it is, the eye is drawn inevitably to the yellow sign, but that is not sharp.
Glad you all agree and I see what you mean, so these are some of the other views I took.
So do any of them work better?
I just wish I had more time as I was waiting for my time to lock out, and it resulted in a mad dash to the boat.
