    Lightning Stikes Again!

Major lightning storms here the last couple days(killing myself for not having my camera with me at all times! ) But, I took this pic from my front yard, I used just my Canon p&s - set to shutter priority and at a 15 second shutter speed...... this was the one and only shot I was able to get.....

I SO wish it hadn't been so windy, it really made the trees blurry..... but hey, got to work with what you got right?

How did I do for my first lightning shot?

    Re: Lightning Stikes Again!

I think you did a fine job. We haven't had the lighting storms this spring like I had hoped we would. Lots or rain, just not much lightning. At least not when I was in a position to try to get some photos of it.

Very nice, I didn't even notice the blurry trees until I read what you wrote. My eyes were drawn immediately to the lightning.
Please ask before editing my photos, I'll say yes

I like to take the pictures...

Nice capture, Chow. I've always wanted to try one, but with my luck, I'd be struck.

I kept wishing I had the time to head to your side for all the lightning storms rolling through. Had way more of it than I've seen before and they kept coming and coming.

    Good catch.
    Keep Shooting!

Nice shot! As far as the trees the lightning (the subject) is in focus just like it is supposed to be, Jeff

    Re: Lightning Stikes Again!

I would crop out a bit of the top even though it would clip the lightning. This would balance the composition. Then I would darken the shot (see what you can get away with) so to make the lightning stand out against a dark background better. PS has a graduated darkening capability so that you could selectively darken the top and not the bottom.

    Congrats on getting this too!
