    Lamps for bmadau

    Hi bmadau,

You asked about what I was doing with lamps. Well, here are a few of the concepts that I have been playing with (none have been altered besides resizing). I'm not happy with any of them. So, I keep on posing them after hours. For some reason I'm drawn to the geometric elements provided by the lamps.

I guess in a way my first submission here was partly about the lamp:

    After Bedtime

I wanted to keep the lamp in the composition. But, some folk here recommended that I crop the lamp out (and I think they are right).

    Anyway, there you have it...

    Re: Lamps for bmadau

Interesting shots. The last one isn't too shabby at all, and I enjoy it. I enjoy the little trinket to the right of it, a nice little touch. I think with your second one it would work alot better if you had the rim of the lamp shade in focus instead of the table, might be a little more fitting and I still think you'd get the great lighting that you got on this one. The first one is a good concept, yet I think if you positioned yourself differently to encompass more of the lamp in the reflection it would be a lot more effective.

Nice shots though and a nice, neat little series you can do with stuff you find at home,

    Jared

Thanks for posting those. It is always interesting to see another's take on a similar subject. That's kind of what is neat about the photo project forum.

I remember that thread from when you originally posted it. That definately is an interesting photo. It inspires me to try something similar.

I like your first and third photo's to most. Don't know exactly (I'm not a good critiquer) but they set kind of a relaxing mood, or atmosphere. Can't say for sure without seeing it, but the first may look better if the reflection were closer to the lamp.

    Thanks again
