    Lake Clementine Dam

After Tuesdays record breaking storm for our area I had to see if the dam had spilled over yet. To my surprise it had. We received over 6" of rain on Tuesday. A new monthly record for October.
The funny thing about this shot is I had to use my tri-pod fully extended and lift it over the fence, and above my head, in order to get an unobstructed shot from the fence blocking my view. I used a 10 second timer and took a blind guess at about where I thought the lens was pointing. This was the third and lost shot. It looks like a log was in flight down the dam in the upper section of the white water. Rare seeing as they have a net blocking debris from falling over the dam.
    Any advice is always appreciated,

    Thanks again
    Darin

Really cool shot, I might crop some off both sides to put it in 4x5 format and then clone out what's left of the orange buoys and branches. This is a really cool shot though.

Thanks caleb. When I first processed this the bouys were driveing me crazy. So I cloned them out. But for some reason, I'm not sure why, I decided to leave the pic as it was. I suppose it gave my eyes more to look at? who knows. I will try the 4x5 and see how that works, Thanks for the advice as always.

Great shot Darin - especially for the way you described taking it! I can't find anything I don't like about it, just as it is.

Very cool, creatively done. I almost wanted to nit pick about the composition, but then I read how you took the pictures, well done!

Thanks Jeff and everyone else. After our next big storm I plan on adventuring to the bottom of the dam. It's about a five mile hike, but the pictures and serenity will be well worth it, as it is every year . Maybe this year I will tie on a blind fold and see how the pics turnout..seemed to work for this shot
