That's a pretty clever trick! Did you get inspired by a tutorial or is that original?

Very interesting and nice treatment. You also started with a great image. Sharp, clear eye, great colors and nice feather detail.
I appreciate going for things a little different. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice photo of a bird with much color and detail to look at. Very imaginative framing. I would consider going with a darker outer outline to make the photo and bird stand out.

    Re: Keraru

Thanks n8, I've wanted to try an out of bounds shot for a while now so I found a tutorial which I adapted to suit.
Jeff I think the shadows help to add depth, appreciated your thoughts.
    Thanks Ed.
IIewpics I did try a couple of different levels in the back ground so what you see here is just a personal preference, thanks for the comment.
    Appreciate that Tankus.

    Re: Keraru

    Nice photoshop skills.

how about if the greyed out BG was actually a continuation of the shot? if the original shot was a landscape type. i think that would've made this 'snap shot of a moment in time in polaroid type freeze' more realistic. realistic in an aesthetic sense, i know this is just you messing around.

also nice shadow of the tail falling down on the 'photograph paper' cutout.

hard to explain what i think in this photo. lol.

Thanks Liban, I tried that but the reason I used this background is that I think it looks a bit more interdimensional, if that makes sense. The background is from its habitat but a different place.
