George Zimbel: Digital diahhrea is a disease for which there is a simple cure. Take one frame of a scene. It is exquisite training for your eye and your brain. Try it for a month. Then try it for another month…then try it for another month…..
I second your self critique that you like it and will raise it up notch and say I like it a lot! GREAT shot, Jeff

Thanks, I spent about 30 minutes chasing this guy from flower to flower. I shot about 80 shots, and have 3 keepers. The other two in my gallery. I'm going to need a bigger memory card if I want to do this on a more regular basis I think.

I like your choice of "environmental", instead of opting for a heavily cropped bug-face. I agree with Jeff about bumping up the colour a bit. Also the eye catchlight is killer.
Compositionally, pretty good job. Just one thing: The leaf on the left is half out of the frame! Other than this and the low contrast, great work.
P.S. Don't feel bad about 3/80 keeper ratio, I have shot 100+ of a single bug (1 keeper ), since extremely shallow DOF issues are frequent, the more shots taken the better.
There is no colour correction/saturation here. What you see here, is what I saw through the view finder. That's what attracted me in the first place, was the colours. After I saw this little guy buzzing around, then I knew I really had to get some shots!
