    image of recovery

When I'm not monkeying around on here, I'm working with adolescent guys in a recovery home. I had the idea to putting my photo skills to decorate our waiting room. The coin the kid is holding is from our program. Curious of your thoughts on the blurring, detail, and crop, color, or whatever.

I like it, though perhaps since it's kids your program is working with, bring his face slightly more into focus. Not so much that he becomes an identifiable individual, merely enough that he becomes part of the statement. It is effective as it stands.
    It's not about the camera....

Love the texture in the coin. And the blurred face is nice too. I probably would have done a bit of makeup with layer blending, but that is my perversion. This is a nice shot.

Thanks guys. I've got to keep it pretty blurry for confidentiality...especially considering I'm posting it here! Daq, I used Topaz Detail on the coin. They're a nice set of plugin's.

Very nice and well thought composition. I agree about a bit more focus on the boy, but understand your concerns. I only feel that the fingers looks lifeless in that they have no color and perhaps warming up that area. giving them a bit of flesh tone would help. . .nitpik really.

    Well done, nice concept.

Agree with what others have said about the young person's face being a bit more in focus. I also think it might be a better shot for your purposes if the name of the treatment center wasn't showing on the coin - seems like an advertisement (whiIe I'm sure that is not how you inteneded the shot from your comments). I wonder if the other side of the coin might have a recovery related phrase or serenity prayer? Just my opinion.

Good call on the skin tone Gary. I actually bumped the saturation a bit overall and it gave some life to the whole thing.

This is cool! for me there is a bit too much bokeh. I like to see what is in the back ground and as it is it's hard to tell. I like it though.

Wow, I was surprised to see this pulled up...must have been a spammer as I don't see their post anymore.
Dancer, I'm glad you like it, and I wish I didn't have to blur it so much, but you know those pesky HIPPA laws and all that.
