    Horse show pictures

Just a few pictures from the horse show a few weeks ago. I'm slowly scanning them all, so I'll probably be posting more than a few in the next week or so.

I like #2 the best, although it seems a touch tilted and maybe cropped a touch close. As contrasted with the others, the riders face is better lit and the vertical format fits the action.

I like the lighting on the horse in the first shot. It seems like it must be hard to get good exposure of people (especially with shaded faces) and well defined animals in the same shot. Good action shots as well.

The second shot makes me want to see more of her face, I think a little closer would be better. The third shot is nicely framed shot.

    Just my 2 cents.

I also like the second shot best since you can see the face of the rider. It would have been nice to have taken it as landscape instead of portrait (like the bottom shot) to add dynamism and somewhere for the horse to go.

The bottom picture is also nice but the rider merges with the trees in the FG. As for the top shot, a bit of flash would have been necessary, but then it might have spooked the horse if taken up close and personal. Also, I might have used the white fence as an horizon for this shot, in order to give a sense of balance. But that's just me!
