    The background and snow are great, The forground not so much, those (don't know what plant that is, my plant knowedge is zero) foreground plants are too distracting. The subjects are too close to the top edge which again emphasizes the foreground even more.

    I think a shot that was more like (from bottom up) Ice, subjects, snow bank, background would've been more effective.

    your right the foreground gets in the way. i dont have the software to take it out.

    That seems like too much work, I think the foreground would be ok if you saw some sky line to add more depth. I kind of enjoy the foreground it's what makes landscape shots work. Do you have any more "action" type shots of the skaters?

    I like the foreground and the background. If their faces were a little sharper, this would be a great photo, IMHO.
