    Re: The Great Challenge..

This has more to do with Brian's personal opinion and taste rather than any challenge remotely related to the quality of an image.

Get real! In professional competitions, no one is capable of comparing a black and white to a colour photo, or even a great portrait to a great action shot...   That is why they have categories to restrict critique to like subjects and formats.
Apples are not compared to oranges in challenges with any credibility.

Then there is judging. Critiquing in any challenge or competition is based on a published set of criteria for the purpose of fairness and greater objectivity. The concept of trusting one judge with personal taste as his criteria is totally laughable.

You are taking things a tad too serious Ronnoco..There have been many great images both colour and mono posted in this forum..What my prime objective is is to see them in the same thread side by side..

I think the thread should stay alive until the end of the month so the busy people have time to sort through their photos and post - once they find the thread! (-:

    Okay,

Why not allow all the viewers to vote for the pictures so that you get a broadspectrum of influences selecting the best image. Can this be done on this forum?

Maybe instead of posting our own favorite picture we should post our favorites of other peoples stuff...

That's a long time. This will probably need to be a sticky then.

Also, are we allowed to post more than one Jurgen?

Alison,,how about we stick to just one per person...That will stop posters flooding this thread with images..

    Re: The Great Challenge..

Maybe we could post one picture and then list the others if any, we liked. I have about three that I would mention in my post, but one clear favorite.
