    Grand Canal (before Storm)

    Heyho,

Another photo, this time a shot of the Grand Canal near my home in Naas, Co. Kildare. It was a really dull day, and it was just starting to rain when I took this shot - I think it captures the mood quite well. But maybe its too dark - what do you think?

    Hi...
Yes it does capture the mood but I would like to see some more detail. Translation --> It is a bit too dark. Good composition.

I'd be worried that this picture any lighter would ruin the detail in the clouds. I'd agree with shesells and say maybe just enough to increase the detail slightly. Great mood.

This is a really beautiful, dark, moody shot. Even though I would like to see more detail in the buildings, I think more detail might brighten the shot and, therefore, the mood, which might detract from the picture. The buildings are spooky the way they are. I like it very much.

Hmmmm, dark and moody is OK. But I honestly can't tell what the subject of this photo is. The canal itself doesn't really stand out because of the exposure and rather busy scene. I would have thought I was looking at a flood if not for your title. I think a different composition, something simpler, would help.
