    Gazing Cat

Hi all, this is my first post here. I have so many photos I want to get feedback on, here's just one. When I go out in my yard my cat follows me, it is hard to get a good shot of her because she wants to be right under my feet. I was laying on the ground for this photo. The colors are kinda messed up because she was looking right into the setting sun.
Please let me know what you think.

    Thanks
    Tiffany

    Dear Tiffany,

Welcome to the Forum! Hope you enjoy it here. Now, on to the picture...

You did a good job with the DOF here. Most of the cat's face is nicely in focus. The exposure seems fine, but I might say it was a tad underexposed for my taste. I must admit, I am not in love with the expression of the cat, but I can't exactly make the cat do otherwise . A fairly good photo for a first post.

P.S. What camera are you using? Thanks

    Re: Gazing Cat

Hi there, thanks for the comments. Yeah, can't exactly yell "smile!" and expect the cat to respond. Unfortunately Frisky (the cat) is quite old, and her face shows that by it's imperfections, so close ups of her do not end up great. You're right, the photo is a bit underexposed, I lightened it some in photoshop, but if I got too light I started losing detail.
I'm using a 300D with the kit lens. I'm hoping to get some good lenses soon, but right now I just have the kit lens and a cheap 75-300 f4-5.6 III to work with.
    Thanks
    Tiffany

    Tiffany,

Welcome to the boards. Minus the cats eye on the right hand side of the frame being a tad out of focus, I like it. The colors work well and a nice use of the blue background!

Well done and welcome to PR.com,

    Jared
