    Flat Tire

    All feedback appreciated as always.

p.s - I wish I had taken one with out the light in the distance. but this is the only shot i took at this location cause i was in a hurry to head to a friend's house.

LOVE IT!! Great pic man! It looks like the car and the building grew old together.

Nice work Liban the open door on the right adds mystery to it.

I love this shot, the light is a little distracting but it still looks great.

Nice shot. Which lens? It has that 3d feel to it.

Think I would have been in a hurry, too. Looks like a place where your life is in danger.

Very cool! For fun, I'd like to see how it would look with the colours boosted to bring out the blues and pink paint on the wall, but this image is still exceptional on its own.

    Re: Flat Tire

Very interesting. Good presentation, good final product. I like most everything.. The car may be a tad small in the scene (but also might not). I am torn if the light there is good or bad. Note that it draws your attention to it, and in this situation it may rob from the car and very moody street. But very good shot, Liban

Good eye and great shot! The bg light doesn't bother me but I wish the plate weren't so bright.

    Re: Flat Tire

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm happy that the light isn't a big issue to most of you.

jkriminger, I was using the Sigma 10-20mm at 10mm

Ron Kruger, Absolutey not. Havana is one of the safest cities in the world. I could be out until 3 am and wouldn't feel any sorta danger. I'm from a fairly safe city (Toronto) and I think that Havana is even safer than Toronto.

    Thanks all.

    Hi Liban,
The shot is very atomospheric. The colours are also very pleasing.

I would have said this was Cuba without even reading it on the number plate.
So you captured it just right.

Amazing. Sticky, anyone? The light adds greatly; leave it in.

May I inquire as to setting details, PS work, etc.? Everything you did seems to have worked perfectly.

You totally killed on this one, L.

    Re: Flat Tire

Excellent work, Liban. You nailed this well. I agree about the plate being a bit too reflective, but the light in the bg seems to add rather than detract. I must remember to keep one of these old clunkers in my camera bag to pull out in just the right setting . . .
    Awesome image.

For what it's worth, I keep feeling like I would have wanted to see a bit more of the side of the car by you standing a bit more to the left. This really is a nitpik. There's no question this is a killer shot.

    Re: Flat Tire

Wow, thanks for the sticky. I'm surprised how much everyone likes this one! I wasn't expecting this. lol. I appreciate all the kind words.

Dray, here are my settings. F16, 60 seconds, ISO 200, 10mm (Sigma 10-20) and Nikon D300. No Photoshop work. Just a slight white balance correction in Nikon Capture NX2.

Gary, yeah, I wish i had taken other shots of this place. When I get back, i'll make sure to get back there. The car will probably still be there. lol Other angles, or getting a bit closer to the car like others have suggested might have also worked.

    Thanks all.

I like this one a lot but I do wish the car wasn't centered. Still, the color/light/mood are all perfect. Well done.

DrRoebuck, Thanks!! Yeah in hindsight, i shoulda returned to this place in another time and played around with the composition a bit. Maybe even a daytime shot.

    Re: Flat Tire

Congrats on the well deserved, sticky.

    reign, welcome to the forums!
Since the embargo on Cuba by the U.S. in the late 50s( i think), they were unable to get new cars so had to take care of what they had. Car collectors in the U.S. have been drooling for decades for the day they can buy there again because there are so many still running 1950s and earlier cars.
    Keep Shooting!

    Leels,

What a terrific shot. The colors are so perfect, I think the light adds to the intrigue of the shot, but this is so well done it wouldn't matter regardless. Congratulations on the sticky. Well done.
