To fix or not to fix?

Taken in Borrego Springs CA yesterday, a desert community.

I sort of 'fixed' the distortion using Photoshop's Lens Correction filter in one version, but I'm not sure it's better like this? I post both versions for review - Comments?

I like the original one better due to the palm tree. I like it corrected but I think that the overall picture looks better in the original, Jeff

I agree, I wish there was more of the palm tree in both images. I also find that I miss the ground in the corrected one. How did you do this though, because I was told I needed to correct the same thing in one of my images and I am not sure how. I do like the images though, I like the subject very much.

I like the first one you lost to much at the top on the second one.

I don't know how you corrected this but when I do it I find instead of taking just the top left corner and moving it o the left say two inches to straighten the wall that I only move it one inch to the left and bring the bottom one inch to the right so that you don't loose as much when it gets cropped, Jeff

Re: To fix or not to fix?

Looks like it's unanimous then; the palm tree and negative space are important to the image.

Jeff, I used CS5's Lens Correction filter on Custom, the Remove Distortion slider. The Auto didn't do much. I adjusted until the left side of the building was plum, which unfortunately removed the interesting-looking vegetation.

On a side note, no one guessed, but I didn't like the way the left side cross looked in the fix (it is already crocked and was really weird in the fix), so I did a little surgery to straighten it.

Adamo, see above. Not too hard at all... I not wish I had stepped back a little and left more space for consumption by the filter, but I checked my images and don't have any wider ones ... You live and learn.

Greg, next time I'll step back.

    Thanks all !
