    First timer....

Have at it guys. Two of the first few pictures I've ever taken with a decent camera, and certainly first ones I've ever gone out to photograph (aside from family get-togethers).

Both are obviously the same idea, but for some reason I'm drawn to the narrow focus. I'll get over it soon though!

    My own critique:

1st one: I should have angled it differently. I think the bright sky behind it takes away from the subject. Also too centered.

2nd one: The Porsche emblem should have been upright and a bit more prep-work in general. Also the top of the car doesn't jump out of the background as much as I would like. The top left of the windshield pretty much blends in.

    Your turn! haha.

omg you own a 914! i love those. its almost my dream car.

as far as critique, i'd like to see a bit more room above the flame in the first one, probbably a portrait composition.

and in the porsche i'd like to see the entire car in the dof. park it further from the back ground or use a more zoomed lense to make it stand out from the background. also in car shots like this you really need to pay attention to what the reflections in the paint are. not that they are bad in this one, but could be better with out the other cars in them.

The 1st isn't doing too much for me.

I agree that in the 2nd one, it would've been a lot nicer had the entire car been in focus. Unless of coarse you want to showcase the rims. So it depends on what you want the viewers to see the car as contrasted by the setting? or the rims (wheels) as contrasted by the rest of the car and then the setting?

I think the 2nd has too much emphasis on the wheels right now but it has potential for sure.
