    Re: fishing party

The space in front of the birds are too liitle.I can not see where they are going to. The birds are too centred on the page. Cropping the water at the bottom up to about the lowest birds tail should sort out the middle line problem. It is quite difficult to photograph a white subject without having a washed out effect.Try underexposing somewhat.
Very interessting subjects though.Seems like the river is in flood as well.

I like this shot. Good find. The only thing I can think to crit is I wish it had more water to one side or the other... to offset the centering a bit. Other than that, I really like it.

The crop looks better, and seems you have found a bit more image in front of the party in the original. Good subject, and title

I like your crop, this was a great subject, and well spotted. The thing that lets it down a little bit for me are the colours, I wish there was a bit more contrast between the birds and the water, just to make them really pop off the screen. Just imagine if that water had been an inky blue! Not sure if that is something you just have to live with, or whether a bit of post processing would help, but nice work anyway.

Very nice SB. I like the 2nd crop better. Way to go finding the shot! I agree with Matt that more color would help, but I don't think there is much you could do for that with this image.

    Re: fishing party

thanks everyone for the postive comments, this picture was taken on the red river which is a very polluted river so the chance of the water ever being blue would be next to never and its been so damn overcast and rainy here, i had nothing on my side. next weekend at the lake where the water is blue i might be able to get another incounter with these birds, thanks again

    Todd,

The second crop is great. A faux panorama works well, and adds greatly! Nice shot,
