    Dinner Party

    Hi all,

In this image, I was experimenting with over-exposing for a high-key image. Like the Night Sun image submitted earlier, the colors are as recorded by the camera (CCD) -- resulting in interesting duo-tones (there is some chromatic aberration in the feeder mesh).

What are your thoughts on this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Tim

Tim I really like this. I have struggled with blown skies on so many images and you have taken that situation and turned into a big positive in this photography. I love the comp on this the way you caught the top bird in flight and the horizon is positioned very well to balance the image. The shepherds crook does a wonderful job of leading the eye up and though the the image. Very successful effort.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

I like it, very good way to maximize the use of the blown out sky. Well done!

HI! I feel this is a beautiful and artistic looking image. It has great depth and the narrow pallete of color is very appealing. A simple compositon and done in a very artful way.
    It's wonderful to me.

Very nice with a quasi-abstract feel to it. The mesh is actually a standout feature in the image.

Thanks for the nice words all. I probably squeezed off 20 frames of that feeder (do digital cameras have frames?). It was busy with birds battling for position. For me, this image floated to the top. Next time, I'll try faster shutter speeds...

Very nice image, Tim. For all the reasons previously mentioned. I like the overexposure here in that I can really get a feel for the bg as there is detail to behold, and yet, the birds and feeder are still silhouetted. i also like the color in the feeder . Great piece
