experiments with sepia

I was experimenting with sepia on my Z1 a while back. I think maybe I should have used a flash to seperate the flower from the background a little more. Also, if anyone out there knows how that could be fixed in photoshop, please tell me. I'm getting photoshop soon. Tell me what you think. Thank you

Is this what you were thinking? I used the magnetic select to outline the outer edges of the flower to get the background, then turned down the contrast and darkened it, then added a gausian blur, also ended up adding some more red/yellow tone to it to give it more depth. Is this what you were thinking?

That does look a lot more like I wanted it to look. Thanks. Any comments about the photo itself as I shot it?? Anyone?
