    Two Waterfalls

Our smokies trip became a waterfall trip-- we saw more waterfalls that I would believe. I brought my tripod and tried for the long shutter release shots to get the flowing look. It's not just the first time I tried shooting waterfalls this way, but my first time doing any shots using long shutter speeds. Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Anyway, the first falls is Juney Whank Falls, located in the Deep Creek area of the Smoky Mountains National Park. The second is of Dry Falls, which is located outside the park in National Forest in North Carolina. The second is definately one of the best I've taken yet.

    Thanks

    CaraRose,
I think the first shot is not framed or composed in such a way that makes it too interesting. I think standing back, or a wider angle lens would help show us more of this scenes surroundings. just my opinion.
The second one is very nice, good long exposure feel and i like how it is simple with the sole subject just being the falls.
I do think that they both, especially the second one seem to be underexposed
please do not edit and repost my photos

Yeah, I wanted to be back farther. Juney Whank is literally on the trail though, the footbridge crosses right in front of it. To get this shot I had my tripod set at the edge of the trail and had my heels over the edge of the ledge down while framing it. I used a 28mm on it, which is my widest angle lense. It was a case of making do with the composure I could get to get the entire falls in the shot.

They aren't as bad as they seem in the scan, but I think both were underexposed slightly.
