    Edge of the Storm

This storm spawned several funnel clouds and at least one destructive tornado.

    Don,

a couple of very dramatic shots. Both could use just a touch of brightening to bring out the highlights. In both shots there is rain visible from the clouds but the dark edges prevent that and the funnel clouds from being seen clearly. Is the purple tone post-production? Kind of grainy. I prefer the blue shot and brightened just a touch. But nice. I really like shots of clouds, especially when they have such character and you have captured it here.

Thanks Flyer. You can't see any funnel clouds here. That is just rain.

don - Good idea on both. I think i have the same critique on both though - reduce the noise, and create a stronger foundation. in both the first and second shots the foundation, or the trees and the land are too subtle - if youd have lowered the camera a bit in either shot it wouldve helped. noise is also an issue, it looks like it was both shot at a high iso and it was also worsened by whatever post processing was done - if you reduce the noise, that would help a lot too. other then that - cool clouds in both shots!

Excuse me a minute while I get out my raincoat & umbrella!
Nice captures. I, too, would like to see a bit more ground in these shots.
