    Tenteen

My 10 year old daughter came down looking rather pretty this morning. I couldn't resist getting a few shots of her in the garden. Lucky for me, it's very overcast today

She was very obliging and posed herself.

I don't know about anyone else, but, I think my children are model material.

I put both colour and B&W in here because I can't make up my mind! I love them both.

    Canon EOS 350D
    50mm 1.8 MKll lens
    TV mode
    SS 1/1000
    ISO 100
    F/2.2
Kodak Airbrush filter applied to a duplicated layer and then erased features and hair back to normal.

Your thoughts, as always are appreciated.

    Wow nice shot(s)

I agree with you on the model material part so it isn't just your biased opinion =P (just got a second opinion from the wife as well... she agrees also)

I love the framing and the angle you shot it at. I have been attempting shooting my son at odd angles recently but mine all look weird. I guess I just haven't found the touch yet.

    Great shot.

Good shot. I like the color a little more (something about the faded pinks in the background that add to it.) Very nice either way though. Good angle. Really worked here.

I think that this is a good portrait. Your picture has a lot of visual impact.
I think that the skin tones and the eyes are quite fantastic in the b&w but her top unfortunatelly is blown out which distract me.
The clothes are well exposed in the color version but the eyes lacks some luminosity. Now, I am being picky because I know that you constantly produce fine portraits. This one remain above average despite those few issues.

i think i like the b&w version better, but just barely. i think it draws more attention to her wonderful eyes.

I like the b/w better 'cause her skin looks a bit more 'normal'? I, personally, don't care for the super filtered look.

besides, i prefer b/w almost always and her eyes are much more intense. I didn't even notice the shirt.

Definately the color one....the B&W just looks fake to me. I also think the color gives the whole shot more life with the green in the background ....just my .02 cents

Hi Alison,,,,for me it is an each way bet between the B/W and colour versions but as a look at both more closely I'm leaning towards the mono version..
I like the angle of her head and your exposure is spot on and that 50 1.8 is sharp as a tack..The reason I'm leaning towards the mono version is in the colour version the area around her eyes is a bit dark...This could easily been lightened up in PS..Also the bright red flora although out of focus is a tad distracting..

    All in though,,lovely portrait..
