Nice detail of the rear of the duck and wing feathers but I think there needs to be some seperation of the head from the darker background for the image to be totally effective. I am struggling to see the detail of the head and eye. I like the angle of the duck and the way it is looking over it's shoulder.

Did you use selective colouring or post processing with this image?

Awww.. how cute, I do see seperation in his head from the background - my monitor is set bright....

Also, I think it should be off centered a bit, maybe have him in the right portion, closer to the edge and leave more space in the direction that he is looking?

Awesome color and his feathers on his back just captivate me... the way they fade from white to grey to black.

I like it, but I have a few problems with it: 1) mallards are so common we tend to ignore photos of them, and 2) it's always better to have a natural background in a photograph of a wild animal - at lleast I think so most of the time, unless your making a point.

it was out in the wild..but there was a small jetti type thing out into the water, and he was just casually walking along it..... so i snapped him...
