Tom - The dog doesn't look real here, like it was copied and pasted onto the the background photo. I don't know if that is so, but it looks that way, esp with that black area under the dog's ab (shadows? They seem to converge) and the bright whiteness of the dog against the much darker wall.

    I like the background.

    Hello GB1
I see exactly what you mean and you are so right. She was not pasted but her very hard shadow does this no favours at all and I failed to notice this before I posted. Here's another more casual shot.
    Many Thanks

    Re: A Dog Called Wanda

Good for you for "rescuing" her. We have quite a greyhound rescue operation in our area to find homes for retired or 'undesirable' racing dogs. Two live just down the street from me who occaisionally visit for "cookies". They have settled nicely into their new digs and hope yours will too! Just watch our for rabbits, these animals can move. I love to watch them run in the local fenced dog park.

    Thanks for sharing - C

Tom, I like the first post best of the two, and although the lighting is harsh especially on the dogs white coat, I never got the impression that it looked pasted. The bg is interesting and the framing is very good. Aside from the lighting blowing out the dogs coat, i think it is a fine shot.

Tom - I like this shot a lot better. The wide format of the photo is very nice. The angle of the dog is a bit ackward against the long format, but overall, I like it better. That building kicks butt for a backdrop!

Glad you didnt take my earlier comment in the wrong way.. I realized after I sent it that might sound cynical. That shadow was really tricky.
