Deer in the snow

I'm not sure who was more suprised.
She walked up as I was taking some stream pictures in the woods Monday.
I was able to change some settings, (Canon 20D; ISO 400; 1/80 f5.6),
take three or four shots.
Then I missed the perfect opportunity as she jumped over the stream.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I like how she is looking directly at you, intently. Has a good feel to it. But , of course she would not stand in the perfect spot for you, thus the lighting here has created exposure problems for you. The blown out surroundings and the subject almost underexposed.. This harsh lighting poses problems, but you have still pulled out a nice shot.
