    Day or Night?

Anyone have a preference between these two? (taken at same parking garage as "standpipe")

These are two different shots though and not taken from the same perspective so you have different effects. I like the over all colors in the first one best. I also like the detail and contrast of the railing better in the first one more, Jeff

I was thinking #1 at first. But now I can't decide.

I think I would have to go with the daytime shot, the tones are far richer in my opinion and the composition is stronger, am wondering if I might just crop it a bit??

    Re: Day or Night?

Thanks for the feedback everyone. My initial thought was that I liked the night shot better, but it had some problems. The shadows cast across the brick and the ceilings lacked much of a tonal variance. Then it hit me, what I really liked about it that the day shot lacked was the warm tone of the brick - the day shot is too cold, I think, but has better contrast and color in the columns and rails. Perhaps I just need to warm up the light balance a bit (which shouldn't have much effect to the bold yellows and reds).

    Herriot,
Any suggestions on the crop, I struggled with trying to find something better, due to the large expanse of brick on the right, but couldn't come up with anything I liked better than the original. I'd be curious to see what you have in mind.

The perspectives in the two shots are too far off, but I tried to sandwich them, the colors were looking great though.
You could put a little warmth on the daytime pic, but it burns out at the top. I like the night pic better, but would crop it to where the lowest red railing is just barely inside the frame,...elimating the lowest yellow pillar alltogether, there is some burnout there as well
