Dancing in the summer

1/2000s at F1.8 using the nifty fifty 50mm. Manual focus on my Nikon D40 a bit painful but it's so worth it at the end. After two hours of intense shooting in the sun i ended up with FIVE successful sharp photos.

How is the composition? I rotated the pic a bit so that the bee ended up a bit more facing upward. Do you think i have included enough flower to complement the bee?

I was stupid enough not to use a flash i think that's why the wings are not frozen still.

Please critique hard.

I like this shot a lot. Sharpness of the eyes is wonderful as is the composition and color palette. Nice work!

Stopped down to what? Stopping the aperture down would increase the blur in the wings. Speeding up the shutter would require going up 1-2 stops and shooting at f/1.8 he doesn't have the room.

Not at all, i got told that using a flash would freeze the wings after taking this shot. That's why i said i was stupid enough not to use a flash.

hi why do u think more DOF would be good? how would the homogenous green background in focus add more interest to the photo?
