    City scene

I shot this one 2 weeks ago while I was wandering in the city.

    Comments are welcome.

Very nice. I like the different colored ivy on the wall, and the stair case gives a nice symetry.

Seb, I like how you framed this. Much thought went into this composition and it shows it well. great subtle colors and nice frame up. Would only suggest some unsharp mask for the web display. good work

Thank you for your comment. I have hardly shot fall scenes this year due to unsolvables conflicts betwen my schedule and mother earth but I guess that this one counts as a different kind of fall scene.

Thanks for the kind words Gary.

I didn't wanted to trash this picture because of its potential but I have to admit that it is less than perfect. What you see is motion blur due to an unproper shutter speed.
I have already applied a light unsharp mask on the version you have seen (0,3 radius, 333% gain, 4 treshold).

I haven't dare to go further to avoid artefacts but I was wondering if 2 slight unsharp mask will lead to a more pleasant effect than one single stronger UM????

I have to try it tonight as I get back home.

    Hi guys,

I have started from scratch and used a stronger unsharp mask (0,6 radius, 200% gain, 4 treshold).

How do you guys feel about this second take?

    regards

Seb, it seems to be an ever so slight improvement and would not go any further. however, it is not all that bad as far as sharpness goes and would not worry more about it. It remains a nice image

This is exactly the comment that I came close to add to the picture. I thought that the picture had a little more impact (mostly the stairs area).

Well the file have serious limitations of it's own. This is a picture I'd like to have printed in 8x12 but I just don't think I can do so. I'll try to reshot in a near future, hoping that the leafs still have interesting colours to them (or that there are still leafs on that wall considering recent changes in weather...)

Thank you for taking the time to comment on that second version, I sincerly appreciate it.
