    Chimneys

Lots of angles, one vertical that doesn't look vertical, and a trace of cloud to break up the blue.
I had hoped for a cooperative bird to sit on one of the chimney pots, but no luck.
Does it need that extra element ?

Oh for the curious, Panasonic GH-1, 14-140 HD lens.
Shot in RAW Adobe and converted in Lightroom, crop, save as JPG sRGB, and sharpen for 800x600 reduction.

Good blue in the sky. Concerning an extra element, would be nice if there was something flying in the upper right side, but you get what you can. I also would like it better if just the vertical wall was there and not the diagonal.

    Which diagonal, GB ?
There's so many angles, which attracted me to it.

I think he's talking about the lower hip roof abutting the chimney. A sky this blue in UK is a rare catch indeed  I like this as it is.

Nice sharp image with those interesting angles. A bird sure would have been nice or perhaps a chimney sweep.

Yes, the V shaped structure connecting to the chimney wall.

The colors here are mesmerizing, or at least something like that

First chimney on left? man, I'd hate to be carrying in the fire wood, bad enough here (-11 c last night in the great brown land) , I think it's a good eye you have, not gifted to us all. And I agree, blue sky? Photo Shop..got to be.. (How's the cricket going )..

Chimneys between two houses, so each house has two rooms on each of 3 floors.
Blue sky has clouds in, so it's OK for the UK

    Re: Chimneys

I happen to like the diagonal lines created by the roof ridges, it adds to the 3 dimensional perception for me. A bird or other added element like you mentioned would be nice, but you take what you're given right? I think I'd prefer at the black rubber roofed bit on the right hand side wasn't there, but I think you would've missed a good portion of the angular roof ridges that I like by cropping it out.

    Thanks.
I'm pretty sure that black area is leaded, not rubberised.
But no way am I going up 3 stories to check !

    Re: Chimneys

That would be an awesome backround for something that contrasted with the "industrial" look....a flower, a bird, a worker....something.

Nice technical exposure, but the "Story" in the picture is thin.

    Re: Chimneys

I agree Len, there was a bird on the chimneys of the house next door but there were too many telephone wires to get the clean lines I wanted. Of course the bird didn't move in the 15 minutes I waited.
