    Bugs in Love

I shot these damselflies today with a 40omm lens and 68mm of extension tubes. The insects are about an inch long, but pencil lead thin. If I take my eye off them for a second, it takes me several more seconds to find them again. The black background is pond water, underexposed to avoid blowing out the highlights on the flies.

You have done very well with these as they are very difficult subjects. Good depth of field and background seperation. The only nit I can find is a slight green cast. If you use PhotoShop try clicking your blackpoint eyedropper from curves on the lower left corner and see what you think.

I dont know about this, it looks like an empty picture, but the coloring is cool and the detail is amazing but it feels empty

Excellent shot of a difficult subject. The DOF is great, and the gossamer quality of the wings shows through beautifully. Kudos on this pic.
