Technically, there's nothing wrong with this shot. Great black and white, and very strong tones. Composition is pretty good, yet my eyes wander too much as there doesn't seem to be a strong enough subject matter here. If it's the road, the main log in the centre is overpowering it.

    Just my two cents,

Very nice. I like the sun peaking out from behind the tree. However, it seems a bit underexposed, at least on my monitor. Just a touch brighter would bring out some of the texture of the shot.

I agree with you--fix the exposure and you have a great photo. I probably would have metered about have way down the road.

For the essence of a work of art is, after all, that it cuts out a piece of the endlessly continuous sequences of perceived experience, detaching it from all connections with one side or the other, giving it a self-sufficient form as though defined and held together by an inner core.

Very nice compostion, I feel the lonliness of the road, the isolation of the area - somewhat dark and forboding --- you might be able to brighten it up a tad in post exposure processing.

I also like the photo, but in my humble opinion agree with the exposure comments below. However I think there is a lot of interest in this scene. I like the way the light falls on the empty table and chairs and I think the cobblestone/rocky texture in the forground of the road might add something to the shot. I also enjoy the lonly and empty feel.
    Otherwise nice photo!

On this particular picture i actually wanted to get the dark lonely silhouette feeling.....but i think you guys are right and could use a little bit brightening up. when i have a little more time i'll do that and post it back here.

thx again for the comments made so far.
