    Bikini Model

It will be interesting how many views this thread will get with that title ...

Shot this yesterday at a group shoot. She obviously has modeling experience. C&Cs welcome. To me it almost looks like it was shot at a ski chalet (?), already thinking how I could do the same shoot with ski suit, skis, etc.

Very nice shot! My one problem with it is that her right arm is cut off, Jeff

    Re: Bikini Model

    Very nicely done!

I wouldn't really know how to improve this but here are a few comments ...

the angle is a bit odd , the main subject seems to be her belly button, and she seems a bit hidden in the door

either the door is small or she is incredibly tall

the hair looks odd, blond and black

and she is very good looking

Did you have a reflective surface in front of her ?

    Re: Bikini Model

Here is another of her taken a moment beforehand.

Jeff, I see that. I wish her hand was showing.

Armando, the angle is a tad bit odd, her showing off her belly button but looking away, making her a little aloof. I still works, I think, but makes for a less personal scene. I like to crouch down a little when shooting to make a model seem taller and dominating. She is that tall btw, or at least appears so with her thin build. But this park - Leo Carrillo Ranch in Carlsbad - has a lot of strangely-dimensioned buildings and I don't know if if the door way was lower than normal -- probably..

She definitely has wild-colored hair. That with her eyes makes a powerful combo. I think she'd work incredibly in portraiture.

What's hilarious is that I don't even remember if someone had a reflector aimed at her, being too busy snapping away. We did have one around but I think everyone was shooting so I don't know how she got so golden.. I'll ask the guys next time.

Second is vastly superior. First one looks like she is thinking about kierkegaard or some sh** like that.

First thing that struck me was "I can see right up your nose" no bogies.
    OK I admit, I'm weird.
But I think that low viewpoint, coupled with her height, is a problem.

    Re: Bikini Model

Second shot is better but still too low of an angle IMO. The first shot has me looking straight into her belly button and/or cleavage (not a bad thing I guess ). Her eyes look like they could be mesmorizing and I'd like to see a lot more them along with her very fit body.

    Re: Bikini Model

Well, it's now been about 24 hrs since I posted this, and already 81 views.

Maybe some subjects are more popular than others? Advertising 101 material.

Daq, maybe she is a philosopher? But she probably just knows about posing. I agree the eye contact adds something.

Phil, I sorta agree on the first, but the second too? Ok, guess that sideways glance isn't for everyone.

Paul, the votes are in - you are weird Not sure why you don't like the low viewpoint (other than her nasal). This is a common and classical angle that model photographers use to make the models look tall and dominating. Maybe she's too close to the top of the door though: the buildings had strange dimensions at this ranch (park). I think she's about 5 foot 10 inches.

Ridgetop, can you say why you don't like looking at this angle (as didn't Paul)? .. I'm curious. Yeah it's mostly about her belly in this one, not having good eye contact. Another of the photographers posted some amazing portraiture shots of her that day. (Can't link to it because the Meetup site is restricted to members.) Her eyes are incredible. I have a few more will post later.

    Thanks for commenting everyone.
