    On the beach

Hello everyone, long time no post.

Just wondering if this picture is a good one or not, it's missing the usual stuff like palm trees and people chilling out on the beach, but it was sort of my intention to get a peaceful no one around off the beaten track sort of feel.

Does it work or not?; and what do you like about this picture.

    Thanks in advance

I love it! I would crop the bottom a little. The only thing wrong with it is its not hanging on my wall!

    Re: On the beach

As Lori suggested crop about 1/3 of the beach out and I think it might be a nice shot, not saying that it isn't already.

    Re: On the beach

I'd crop off the top rather than the bottom. It also needs a subject. As is it is a nice foreground and a nice background crying for something to catch my eye.

Thanks Ryan, Lory, Danic and Frog for tips.

After all your comments this is the result and in my opinion it looks much better, once again thank you all, I think this could be used to show how important and prominent cropping can be.

    Re: On the beach

I think the foreground rocks are important here. I would use the same sky crop except cutting it to a third , and just come up from the bottom to the algae rock in the center. then clone out the lower left tip rock.
Please ask to edit photos and I'll do the same!
    Thx, Rod

    Re: On the beach

The problem with your first image is that it is split neatly in half by the horizon and the rocks at the bottom are cut off by the edge of the frame.

Your panoramic crop has the horizon slightly off center which is better but neither image has any foreground interest to provide depth to the image.
    No, I DON'T need that.

I like this. The clouds seem to draw me right in.

    Re: On the beach

I like both in different ways. The first is indeed too split in half, but the foreground does add something, as noticeable when viewing the cropped one. The cropped version is pretty but is begging for a sailboat or canoe to be sitting there in the water near the shore in the left side.
