    Dear all,

    Seasons Greeting!

I would like to know your advice and evaluation of this B&W picture.

Thanks a lot and have a nice holiday.

    Alex,

I like how you framed your boy and how it feels like he is sharing his toy with the viewer. However the background is of no particular interest (for me at least) and take too much place even if your son clearly is your main subject. Thus, I would use a shallower deep of field (not to necessarily fully blur the background but to diminish its visual impact). Also, it seems to me that your son face is a little too dark. Now, I am not really into portraits but I think that a reflector would take care of this (I will let more knowledgeable portraits folks go into details as I haven't used reflectors myself).

    regards

    Seb

I think this is an interesting picture but the subject looks dark on my screen. I am also wondering exactly what is going on in the picture. I like the composition.
