    Balboa Park :: Botanical Gardens

    I'm brand new to this thread. I've only been half-way into photography due to time retraints. However, as a graphic designer, photography is definitely an area I'd like to become more skilled in. I took this shot in the Botanical Gardens in Balboa Park, San Diego.

    interesting flower. definitely picture worthy, i think.

    the biggest problem here for me is that the two background blooms cause a great distraction. try to unclutter your composition a little.

    The photo lacks a certain sharpness that the photos in your gallery have. It's a but fuzzy, though perhaps thats just the compression of the jpg file

    Welcome.

    I like the colors and subtle shades brought out in this shot, but it is a little soft as well. Composition is good. I would try shooting at a very wide angle, very close in next time if you can (maybe a tad lower relative to the flower buds)... sort of turn a flower into a tree as it were.

    Keep them coming...
