    Back to school

I'm trying my hand at b&w hdr's. This is a little mock school house at a local apple orchard. C&C please.

May I suggest playing with the shadows and highlights a little and sharpening it a bit. I tried it hand it brings out a lot in your picture, Jeff

I don't think you brought out the shadows in the school house enough.
Also appears to be quite out of focus.

I like the sheen in the image. To me it looks dreamy so I can't quite believe my eyes. What an interesting image.

    Re: Back to school

hey n8, i like your approach here and it could work. but this shot desperately needs a white point :-) if you look at the grey scale here, it starts with light grey all the way to black. effective photographs have both a white point and a black point. this one is missing the white one. to over come that, i would open the levels pallet, choose the white eye drop, i think it's the furthest one on the right, then click on what you think should be the lightest part of this image. maybe the lightest cloud? that should give this the pop it deserves.

    What a lovely little subject.
Personally I don't see the point of HDR on this shot (or any shot for that matter ). One good exposure on this subject could do it good justice. But well done for finding the subject. I just feel your experiment has not paid off.

Great feedback leels. I actually did some burning over the clouds...perhaps that wasn't needed.
