A while a goI bought myself a new computer ( I murdered my windows pc and now I'm a glad owner of an Apple computer thank god ) and lost the list of favourite websites including this one.
Thanks to Google I got this website back and I hope to have some fun again here by showing and commenting on photo's.
In the last months it was a very busy periode due to work and photography.
Instead of opening topics I want to show some pictures from the last periode.
Which will show motorsports, speedskating and ice hockey.
Before christmas the Dutch speedskaters prepared themselve for an skate off to get the last tickets for Vancouver.
Bob de Jong 34 years old was the big winner of the 10000m the reaction during the race from the audience was overwhelming to hear and see...
After the race emotions ran up high
Dutch speedskater Arjen van der Kieft was the underdog.
As a privateer speedskater without any big sponsors he managed to get his ticket for the Olympic games. Almost everybody didn't expected this to happen.
I managed to photograph him during the 10000m.....
Besides speedskating I spent some time at the smaller ice rink to photograph ice hockey.
I even bought an nikkor 10.5mm fisheye for some wider angle shots ( especially for bodychecks right in front of me )
And my standard kit for ice hockey includes a 17-55mm and a 70-200mm
It looks so far away a picture of june 2009:
And the last Dutch open championship roadrace:
A small 125cc machine looks even smaller on this long and curved part of the Dutch TT track @ Assen.
All the races I photographed at the famous Dutch track were under beatiful and warm conditions.
Except one hour during the practice of the Dutch Superbikes
But the worst part of the winter period is the lack of my need for speed addiction too photograph.
Although it takes a couple of weeks the motorsport season will begin for me with 4 days of ice speedway.
This year I'm fully prepared and my aims are very high.
