I can agree with Nina in that i can appreciate the differences in each shot, but I would say for sure I like the second one for the smooth water and the strong reflections of the trees and clouds. And lack of the tree in the foreground which somewhat bothers me in the first shot. Good work

I like the first better. I find the floating leaves in the 2nd distracting, and I also like the brighter trees in the second.

Is it just me or does anyone else find fall foliage shots hard to enjoy? I don't know how to explain it. Living on the coast of New Hampshire, yet within minutes of the mountains, I am witness to some of the most beautiful and vivid color swatches nature can provide. As a photographer, I find it incredibly frustrating that it's virtually impossible to capture on film -- particularly if it's simply a picture of the trees in a natural environment (lakes, fields, etc). I'm to the point where I don't really bother trying to capture it and instead just sit back and soak in the sights, sounds and smells of Autumn.

However, I must admit, when I see an image of deep green grass, contrasted with a bright white fence or house, enhanced by red, yellow and orange leaves, I tend to find it appealing.

I think fall is difficult to capture, period. It's all so breathtaking that the photos seem "blah" in comparison. I myself got rained in for 2 weeks during peak color, and with the "water problems" I've read about with the dRebel and siblings I'm not about to take it outside then. Even so, I find landscapes in general challenging, and what I have shot of fall this year just a bit less than what I thought I was seeing.

Having said all that, I love the color and focus. I haven't found anything like it around here! Outstanding photos of a hard (for me anyway) subject.

PS: Thems some pretty groovy colors for such an overcast day!! I like #2 the best, horizon, color, reflections and it seems a bit more in focus.
