I agree with Liban (and the others) completely on this. The interesting part is the ocean and sky, not the parking lot. I'm wondering what it would have been like if you were out at the edge, or in the surf looking along the coast. I see the bright waves and the dark beach playing against the clouds and sky and wish there was much more of that.

+1 on the gradient idea as well. I'm not sure why, but it will usually give better results than a straight desaturate. You can also throw in some channels to fine tune.
