Question Another from a recent session of dirt jumping...

This is another photo I got from that same night as the other image I posted here last week.

Good photo. It seems to me to be the kind of shot you would see in a mountain bike magazine, but it is maybe a little tame or commonplace in its viewpoint. Also, did you notice the flare? I can't decide if it detracts from the photo or not.

    Thanks...

    Hey LL,
Thanks for commenting on this image, especially you are the only one to comment on it since it was first posted two months ago.

I got a lot of comments like that, but I still it is a great image.
Yes I am aware of the flare. I don't it is too discracting.
    Thanks!

Wow. Do you ever compare what you are shooting now to your shots from a couple years ago? Seems like quite a difference. Would having a little less flash so the shadows of the wheels were less noticable be possible? I haven't done anything like this so I'm not sure of all the variables.

I agree that the flare is OK.

    Interesting...

I'd like to think I have gotten better at this, over the past few years....
    Haven't I?
Mountain biking is something I am very passionate about as well, and I hope that that passion comes through to my images.

I did my best to control the flash, but as you can tell the rider was backlit quite a bit.
Thanks to you too Chunk, for commenting.

You might wonder why I commented on something so old: I try to look at the critique requests that haven't had a reponse and offer something if I can -- especially for those new to the board. This morning I did a sort by numbe of comments and left a few here and ther on "old" posts.

how sad I didn't even notice this one sorry. other than the glare(ovious) I don't ever know how to help with improving the shots because they all look great to me...always satyrated with wonderful colors and sharp as a tack...
