    Another boring sunrise?

Shot while driving through the windshield of my car.

Wooow.. Cool shot I like it! You can also get rid of the whole FG and keep only this HUGE sun and some clouds. If you put the sun on the lower right corner, this gives quite a bit of dynamic to the whole pic. And this will not make your shot look so fuzzy.

    Love the color... Good reflex!

    Cheers,

    Steph.

I'd like to know exactly how you accomplished "driving through the windshield of your car".

I agree with Steph, I love the sun! Not boring at all! Although I wonder if you could selectively darken the foreground in Photoshop to make the trees almost a silhouette. I think that would be cool.

Humm. It is pretty simple. Foot on the accelerator car moving down the road. Sun coming up in front of the car. Point the camera toward the sun and achieve focus then press the shutter button.

As far as the foreground is concerned, to me it really is what makes the photo. Most of my sunrise/set photos are silhouettes so I find this to be very boring at this point. I really like how the fog shows up (most likely aided by a less than clean windshield) and I like the fence a lot but your comment does give me something to think about.

Would this be more to your liking?

Thanks for your very useful comment

The lens used is the EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM.

    Thanks for your kind words.

Excellent sunrise! I thought that "driving through the windshield" would be as difficult for me as waking up early enough to get these. I agree that the FG mist is what distinguishes this from a sunset. Nice job. Stay safe.

    "Another boring sunrise?"

Well, in my opinion, yes. It really has nothing special about it to make it stand out from many, many others. Still a feat to have swerved all over the highway to grab the camera, avoid the truck barreling toward you, flip the camera on and remove the lens cap with one hand, turn hard - narrowly missing the guardrail, position the camera and shoot.

    So, good job on that.
