    All Aboard

This is an Amtrack station in Baltimore, MD. I would have liked to taken some shots down between the tracks, but wasn't eager to be escorted from the station. I am concerned the sky it too bright and the right side under the canopy is too dark. Suggestions?

(I noticed the light spot on the beam after I posted. I have cloned it out, but cannot figure out how to replace it with the cleaner version.)

I lightened the right side and darkened the light section. I also sharpened it some, Jeff

Note: you should be able to see more definition between the over head beams going down the right side. The rocks and picture should be noticeably sharper. I might have darkened to light area too much, I'm not sure.

Thanks for the repost. I have not figured out a way to lighten/darken different areas of a photograph yet. It's either all or nothing when I try. How did you do it?

I like the crop of the repost and comparative absence of processing in the original.

    Re: All Aboard

In Photoshop I chosse SELECT on the top tool bar.

    Next chose COLOR RANGE

Next put your pointer on the color of the section you wish to change and left click
You should see the section you choose turn white in the little window. The amount of this color can be changed be sliding the slider under the word fuzzines. When you have adjusted the picture in the small window to show how much you want to have control over click the OK button.

At this point you should have something like little ants moving around the area that you will be working with

pick whatever you want to do to it such a lighten and adjust to your liking. To get rid of the little marching ants go back up and click on SELECT again and then go down and click on DESELECT.If it is what you want then save it.

Remember to always work from a copy so you can go back to the original and start over if necessary.

I am still learning how to use Photoshop and there may be many other ways to do this same thing that may be better but this is how I did it, Jeff

    Re: All Aboard

Actually, if you work from the color version you can run it through LightRoom, CS4, or PSP and adjust each individual color to lighten or darken as you wish. (I.E. you could lighten the canopy without effecting the platform, or darken the sky without effecting the building on the upper left).

Very nice perspective though, and definitely worth tweeking to get it just right!

I think the first one is fine maybe add a very small amount of contrast. Classic angle of the tracks.
