    African Violets

    My wife's pride and joy. She asked me to take a couple of closeups. How'd I do?

    I think they look great! I love the focus on the blooms and the background blur.

    I like very much the composition of the top right photo (the pale blue photos).
    I also like the "flowers disappearing into the background" shot.
    The composition of the other two doesn't do much for me though...
    Also I think the focus needs to be tightened just a bit - macros need to be crystal clear!
    Great use of depth-of-field to focus attention on the flowers.

    Great framing and color on these. The only thing I would recommend is to sharpen up the initial focus as the foreground is still a bit soft. You may want to try a few with varying depths of field also. It could add another dimension to these.

    Yeah, I know. It's one of the things I'm trying to work on... Focus on macro/enlarger shots is a whole new ball game to learn. Still plugging away, though.
