    Roger where have you been.
You're back with a splash. This is a good catch and unusual. Did you set it up, as it could be the blue of a swimming pool.

That is quite a striking photo. I like how the centered subject is surrounded by the concentric ripples. However, in keeping with the title theme, I would try a crop where the shoe is drifting towards the upper left corner... kind like walking/drifting away. May work... may not.

Love it, well composed, it almost has a graphical quality to it, perhaps due to the vibrant colors.

Great shot Roger. It does have a graphic quality to it and is certainly unusual. The ripples add so much to it as well.

    Thanks to all,

Glad you like this, I was taking photos of something completely different - but you'll have to wait to find out what.

This is actually Weymouth Harbour (Sea wtare hence salt crystals on the leather) in bright sunlight and this is almost how it came out of the camera - just added a touch of contrast to bring out the ripples.

Still not that good at using the software so have to rely on the camera to give me what I want. Taken RAW - F7 @ 1/600 @ ISO 50.

PS. Standing on the stern of my boat for this shot.

Been hard at work on a new project - Computing not photography. Can't wait to retire so that I can concentrate on photography and Sailing.

I was surprised at how clear the water was here as there are a load of boats moored up around this area and the water is very still. I wouldn't swim in it. That boot had been in the water for couple of days to get that amount of salt build up on the leather.

After the photos we fished it out to have a closer look but there were no signs of the owner.

Great shot. Keep in mind an 'Adrift' series for when you are retired. There must be a lot of interesting stuff floating around.

Love the way the blues play of each other and the rim of the shoe just gives it that finished feel. Good tone and feel to the image. Thanks for the post.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

This is a wonderful image and I'm amazed a how little post processing went in to it. It has a very nice graphic quality and the colors are amazing.
Wouldn't change a thing except getting it on a wall.
Can't wait to see what you were really going to take a photo of
    Nicely done.
    Cheers.

As has already been stated - a clean, crisp graphic image. Taken to another level through the mystery of the story told by it's presentation. Well done, Roger.

    Tuna,

Thanks for the critique - I find that high praise indeed. Much appreciated.
