    e-500 wide angle lense - camera not auto focusing

    Hello All,
    I am just learning to use digital SLR cameras, so please be kind if
    this question is too simple...

    i just purchsed the olympus e-500. it came with two Zukio
    lenses. I have no problem focusing with the zoom lense (40-150 mm)
    However, the camera refuses to do any type of automatic focusing when
    using the 14-45 lens.

    Would anyone be able to explain to me why this is happening? I've set
    the AF on the camera to be continuous focus (C-AF) but the camera doesn;t autofocus. The AF confirmation mark in the viewfinder also does not blink or turn on at
    all when using this lense.

    Any help would be much appreciated!

    Thank you!

    I would not use continuios focus, that is for moving objects, try S-AF-MF, in this mode when you press the shutter half way it focuses on the subject and then while you are holding half way down you also can fine tune manualy if needed. The e-500 takes a little getting used to when it comes to focus. You can also set your focus point, left, right, centered or average. Play around with it and you will get the hang of it.
