Dark areas at top and bottom of images when shooting with Olympus E3

I've tried adjusting the exposure, iso and shutter speed but there is no changes. The top and bottom are dark and the middle is bright. This doesn't happen when using the on camera flash and when using strobes but happens with every shot when not. Any ideas what would be causing this?

i had seem something similar with the 12-60 and it was related to having the shutter speed faster than what you would want it be. try shooting in the Program mode in the same light and see if that produces the dark area. I had the similar issue recently with the E-5.

It is not the camera but the settings.
