    Re: today's favorite song?

This has been one of my favorite bands for a LONG time - nothing says over-the-top like over-the-top... The live videos are never good because they were always too jacked up to play well - but that doesn't prevent them from being the apex of exactly what they are supposed to be. Or were supposed to be, this was probably 1982 after all - that was before "goth" but after "punk rock"...

    Save Me by The Milwaukees

The electric version rocks too, but the sound quality on this video is better than the the live concert video I found.

My favorite song would be "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" by Starship. This is the theme song of the movie "Mannequin". It's still ringing in my ears when not played.

    Re: today's favorite song?

A good topic to get my feet wet on.

Last night, a friend sent me the you tube link to "Party all the Time" by Eddie Murphy backed up by the one and only Rick James. It was recorded in the 80s when Murphy was a megastar.

    I couldn't quit watching it.

The great thing about it is how serious everyone is who is watching Murphy sing. I mean they are really into it.

Oh my God. I have that album on cassette, I'm proud [somewhat embarrassed] to say.

I got it originally thinking it was a comedy album. Imagine my surprise when I found that I was actually right.

It took me awhile to see the charm.
